INFO

The Endless Summer were formed in the spring of 2012, under the leadership of Philip Ranger, who was already playing in The Mighty WUB alongside Chris Orso. The idea was to gather a close group of like-minded local musicians who could get together easily to practice without the constraints of long distance travel, a longstanding problem faced by The Mighty WUB.

The lineup, was Philip on lead guitar,  Chris on bass, and Rob Nolan, a long standing uni buddy of Philips took up the reigns of vocals and rhythm guitar.  That left one vacancy, the drummer! With nobody on the immediate horizon Gino Tambini, local friend, drinking buddy, and mountain climbing partner of Philip and Chris's was persuaded to finally, at the age of 48 fulfill his lifelong ambition of learning to play the drums!

The first few sessions were understandibly a little chaotic. With three acomplished musicians, and a rookie drummer, tempers could easily have flared, but patience and prectice began to slowly pay off.

The Endless Summer played their first gig at Rutsfest a local open air music festival. At short notice and less than 8 months (and Gino playing drums for less than a year) together they played a short half hour set early in the day, and just about got away with it. The rest, as they say, is history...

Fast forward to 2015...and many gigs later...the dawning of a new era...Jane Finch, a long time fan of the band, was persuaded to join the line up. With some classical piano training,Jane knows what a crotchet and a time signature are.

After a tense start (Jane is used to

playing all of the parts) the band is

starting to take advantage of the

keyboard sound with the introduction

of some exciting new songs.
